Drie maal topsport!

It runs in the family! Casablanca J&F Z’s sire is the famous Windows VH Costersveld, sporting name: Cornet Obolensky. Partnered with Marco Kutscher, Cornet Obolensky performed in the international showjumping world at the highest level. Some of his highlights: winner of the World Cup class in Zürich (5*, 1m60), second place in the Doha Grand Prix (GCT, 5*, 1m60), fourth place in the Rome Grand Prix (5*, 1m60), fourth place in the World Cup class in Stuttgart (5*, 1m60) and many other victories and honourable placings. Cornet Obolensky and Kutscher were also contributors to the success of the German team, including gold in Rome and Barcelona. Many descendants of Cornet Obolensky are following in the hoofprints of their illustrious sire, such as Cornet d’Amour (Daniel Deusser), Cornet’s Cristallo (Marco Kutscher), Cocoshynsky (Emanuele Gaudiano), Cornado NRW (Marcus Ehning) and Cornado II (Christian Ahlmann). In the most recent WBFSH ranking for the best suppliers of showjumping horses Cornet Obolensky is ranked second.

Ronnette, the dam of Casablanca J&F Z, is a daughter of Libero H. Partnered with Jos Lansink, Libero H won the 1994 World Cup final in ’s-Hertogenbosch. In the nineties of the past century this duo won several World Cup and Grand Prix classes. Bonnette, the grandmother of Casablanca J&F Z, carries the KWPN titles ‘preferent’ and ‘prestatie’. She is a full sister to the international performer Drummer. In combination with Nassau, Bonnette produced the Grand Prix showjumper Annette. Bonnette is also the great-grandmother of the KWPN-approved stallion Grand Slam VDL (original birth name: Lucky Won Van Het Bevrydthof). In 2003 Wauseon, a half-brother to Casablanca J&F Z, was sold at the occasion of the prestigious ‘Prinsjesdag’ foal auction.

Kurt Asselberghs: “Last year I had a good experience on the first Flanders Mare Auction. I sold a Diamant mare for a lot of money and afterwards I heart the new owners is a happy man. This year I bring a younger mare by Cornet Obolensky x Libero H x Nimmerdor, pure jumping blood! She’s in foal by my own stallion Iron Man vd Padenborre (Darco), which won the bronze at the Belgian championship in Lummen recently.”
