What a reference... Kannabis van de Bucxtale was sold as a 2-year-old at the Horseman Elite Auction in 2012 and never disappointed since then! Agnes Peffer saw the dark bay beauty and immediately fell in love: 'When I walked to Albert to say that I found him very exceptional, he calmly answered "Then you have to buy him"', Agnes remembers. And thats what happened...
Agnes's female intuition did not disappoint: as a 6-year-old, he jumped 48 clear rounds out of 49. It earned them bronze at the World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken. At 7 years, he didn't only win the Belgian Championship for 7-year-old horses, he also claimed victory in the Belgian Cup. Thierry Goffinet once said: "There is Kannabis and there is the rest." And the results don't lie...
Kannabis is now only eight years old and just gained his next big title! Last weekend he won the CSI3* Grand Prix in Zandhoven. Under the saddle of Dominique Hendrickx, Kannabis was the first to start in a high and technical Grand Prix in which also five-star combinations appeared at the start. Kannabis jumped effortlessly, making them the first to qualify for the jump-off!
In this jump-off, Hendrickx and Kannabis immediately set such a sharp time that the other 8 combinations did not stand a chance! With 59.188 euros in prize money at the age of 8, this reference speaks for itself!
